Thoughtful Tuesday: Is Your Truth Happiness?

Is happiness  an indefinable word? What does it really mean to happy? Can someone really be happy all the time.  Happiness I have discovered is a choice. Not because I am happy all the time, but because I choose to make it my priority. In order to be happy, one has to learn to let go of things in life that make you unhappy. My partner calls it “the big cleaning”. Sometimes situations, places, jobs and people make you unhappy and make you wither and become angry. Finding true happiness allows you to flourish, when you aren’t happy for yourself or others you stay stagnant and let your soul wither into shreds.

Happiness

Situations in life bring us to points where we feel we do not have a choice, when we actually do. Although , the hardest part is making a decision then deciding to stick to it. Sometimes to be happy one has to sacrifice a lot. Where can we find happiness? Happiness can be found anywhere; it could be in someone else’s laughter. Finding a place, craft or hobby that brings out the ultimate joy in you. Spending time alone, travelling, cooking and working on your garden.

Happiness indeed is a state of mind, if you do not like your situation change it or change the way you think about it—I can’t remember who said that but that’s a great reminder.

So love yourself enough to know that being happy is not a bad thing. As long as your actions do not hurt or kill others that’s okay. Although when you start on that journey of happiness I have observed, that people tend to attack you because they are unhappy with their own lives and can not stand to see you happy. People tend to complicate their own lives by blaming others for their problems but should also be conscious of how they contributed to it.

    I was just thinking about this topic today. Happiness/contentment comes from within.

    But the problem starts when we begin to attribute our happiness to external things such as clothes, food And money. If we rely on these things to lift our mood we often end up feeling unfulfilled and depressed!

      That’s right, if we consciously learn to detach ourselves to material things equating to happiness & just a tool of the trade it would make everything easier.
